Modern Farmhouse is headquartered in San Rafael, California and was founded by Beth LaDove, a third-generation urban homesteader. Growing up alongside her Italian grandparents and parents, she learned the traditional, old world skills of growing and raising her own food and cooking and preserving at a young age. She has honed these skills over her lifetime and now shares her knowledge with clients around the San Francisco Bay Area.
A few select projects include:
- Creating a rooftop edible garden for one of the Bay Area’s hottest restaurants, Comal in Berkeley. This project has been featured in several magazines including Edible East Bay and Berkeleyside.
- Sourcing and growing specialty peppers for Chez Panisse in Berkeley.
- Starting an Italian chef’s garden for Piatti restaurant in Mill Valley.
Beth’s work has been featured everywhere from the New York Times to Sunset magazine. And for the locals, check her out in a recent issue of Marin Magazine!
At Modern Farmhouse Beth has put together a team of skilled building, gardening and culinary professionals who all contribute to bringing the best of the farmhouse to your house!
